I loved how this flatfish photo I took back in 2021 reminded me of old Dutch oil paintings, something about the color and the light and the look in his eye... so I used one of the stylization methods I've been enjoying lately and very lightly adjusted it for an oil painting effect. The stylizing was done via line integral convolution.
I am a disabled cyborg and marine scientist from the Pacific Northwest. I take inspiration from the natural world and my experiences as a disabled person to create poetry, embroidery, and visual art.
