Like all towns close to the Southern Alps , you are always confronted with majestic skies sweeping across the open plains and surrounding provincial towns.
I am a watercolour artist from New Zealand. My watercolour paintings are inspired by New Zealand landscapes, and strive to convey the spiritual connection we have with landscapes in all of it's manifestations . I am inspired to convey serenity through my landscape paintings.
I use gravity ( tilting board) and water from a spray bottle to move pigments on the paper. This is using spiritual forces to influence the composition. I also use transparent pigments, and allow the colours to mix on the paper to try and display a wide array of tones, values and colours.
